Do you listen to podcasts? A couple of years ago my friend introduced me to Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People, and ever since then listening to podcasts has become a habit of mine. Over time I’ve found so many amazing ones that have opened up my mind to different life stories, business ideas and have made my daily commute so much more interesting.
Here are 5 podcasts – that I listen to regularly – for every mood and genre:
“Awaken, discover and connect to the deeper meaning of the world around you”.
For every episode Oprah interviews thought-leaders, best-selling authors, spiritual luminaries, health and wellness experts, and many interesting people. Designed to light you up, guide you through life’s big questions and help bring you one step closer to your best self. I like listening to it in the morning, or when I go for a walk. The conversations always inspire to be my best self and believe in my path. Listening to deep, spiritual podcasts really help me be more focused and not so anxious and overwhelmed.
I’m a huge Esther Perel fan. I’ve watched all her TED talks and read all her books. I’m obsessed with her work. When I found out about her podcast I couldn’t wait to listen, but it’s even better than I expected. The series takes us into intimate moments anonymous couples share during a single therapy session with Esther. We get to listen to raw, intimate, and profound details of their story – from infidelity, to sexlessness, to loss. It’s so vulnerable and so beautiful. A way to explore and understand our own experiences through the stories they share.
I love listening to Heavyweight. The host, Jonathan Goldstein, has a great sense of humour and is a wonderful storyteller. He always makes me chuckle when I’m listening in public. Each episode follows him as he goes back to the moment everything changed in a person’s life and how one single event has impacted their entire lives; so each one introduces us to a new person that has spent years living with regrets, or stuck in a moment in the past they wish they could change. He goes back into the past like a time machine, having difficult conversations and exploring unresolved issues. It’s so interesting to see how we all interpret events in different ways and how that can have such huge impact in our lives. One single event can haunt you for years.
This one is like having a conversation with your best friend, and it’s so fun to listen to. Jaci Mari and Chelsey Jade – best friends – talk about everything from love, to relationships, business, health, and life, all in a very entertaining and light hearted way. They also have very interesting guests from time to time and they share great insight and life tips.
A very popular and recent podcast, Armchair Expert is all about great conversations with celebrities that we love and experts in all kinds of fields. Dax Shepard loves talking to people and exploring different minds, so the episodes always take such interesting turns. He asks deep questions and goes into anthropology and human nature, challenging not only the guest but also the listener. He celebrates setbacks and failures, and talks about how they impact growth and success in each guest’s story. Really fascinating.
