The first time I found myself wandering the streets of London I was pretty stocked. The city has such amazing energy and it’s freaking London, so it felt kinda special. It was a very unplanned, spontaneous trip so we basically took the time to explore the streets, the food and the lifestyle of this beautiful metropolis the best we could.
Admittedly, I made a point of walking all the way to Notting Hil, mostly because of this little movie here. Notting Hill just sounded and looked like a magical place within London: kinda hipster, quirky artsy little shops and bookstores everywhere…it basically sounded perfect to me.
So we sat down for fish and chips (duh!), checked out some cool places, walked down Portobello Road, looked into buying a house immediately, of course, and took lots of pictures. While I was looking around, taking in the atmosphere, I caught sight of two little girls playing inside a pink room and wondered what it was like to grow up in such an iconic little place. I smiled at the thought. And then I felt the late fall breeze chill my skin and looked at the sun setting over Notting Hill. It was a beautiful moment, and if I close my eyes I can still see it.
